RELIABLE AND COST-SAVING

Eden Technology is pleased to announce the launch and successful test results of an innovative and entirely new range of electrically powered straddle carriers - EVA.

The two specific features, truly innovative in the heavy-duty and industrial handling equipment industry, are:

Travel and lifting drives are electrically powered
The steering system is actuator free and does not mount conventional steering mechanisms

This results is an average saving on energy of 18% up to 22% compared to a conventional hydraulic straddle carrier, an overall reduction in the various systems and installations fitted, savings on running costs and improved reliability thanks to the use of simpler components which are now all electric.
The high-energy performance of the EVA range is provided by a diesel motor that produces electricity by means of an alternator. The electricity generated is supplied to the electric motors which drive lifting, machine travel, lighting and trolley travel.
Another key feature of the EVA range is that no hydraulic piping is required, which means no inconvenient and messy oil leaks source of costly maintenance as well as a problem to the environment.

The straddle carriers are steered from inside the operator’s cab using a standard joystick. Compared to conventional machines of this kind, the bogies (wheel groups) do no mount pistons, rack and pinion assemblies, bearing drives or other mechanisms for steering, but are steered using the same electric motor which drives machine travel.

Eden Technology is convinced this new generation of straddle carrier will be valued by companies concerned with energy saving but demanding reliability and high-performance at an affordable price. This is why we, at Eden Technology, have developed an entirely new range of electrically powered straddle carriers – EVA - with lifting capacities spanning from 20 TON up to 400 TON and which can be supplied to satisfy customer project requirements concerning machine height and width.
